Child Safety & Data Privacy

Trust & Privacy

C84 Kids Academy is a Unique Scholars Institute program. We are committed to protecting every child's privacy and safety. This page explains how we handle data, comply with federal regulations, and maintain your trust.

COPPA Compliance

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to online services that collect personal information from children under 13. C84 Kids Academy follows COPPA-ready practices to protect every scholar in our program.

Data Minimization

We collect only what is needed for the educational program — name, grade, reading level, and progress data.

Parental Consent

Parents and guardians can review, request changes to, or delete their child's information at any time.

No Third-Party Tracking

We do not sell or share children's personal information with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

Secure Storage

All data is stored securely with role-based access controls. Only authorized staff can access student records.

Data Deletion

Parents may request complete deletion of their child's records at any time through the parent dashboard or by contacting us.

Age-Appropriate Design

Our platform is designed for children in Grades 4-6 with age-appropriate content, no social features, and no advertising.

FERPA Readiness

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

While FERPA primarily applies to schools receiving federal funding, C84 Kids Academy aligns with FERPA principles as a best practice. When we partner with school districts, we operate as a "school official" with a legitimate educational interest.

Education Records

Student progress, assessment results, and attendance records are treated as education records with appropriate protections.

Parental Access Rights

Parents have the right to inspect and review their child's education records maintained by our program.

Consent for Disclosure

We do not disclose personally identifiable information from education records without prior written consent.

Directory Information

We limit directory information to the minimum needed and provide parents the option to restrict its use.
